Performing Arts

Performing Arts is a learning area very much enjoyed and valued by students at Bayswater West Primary School . With a solid school-based program, and a range of extra-curricular programs including Choir, whole-school dance days, and even Bayswater West Idol, our school offers students a vast range of opportunities to explore their dramatic talents.

This year the children have utilised their performing skills through our Mother's Day Concert, the Wishing Tree Launch and our Biannual Whole School Musical Production - "Show Time at Sea". The children often perform dramatic works through they work in Literacy and many students take part in specialist Music lessons on instruments such as Guitar and Keyboard.

Most exciting in Performing Arts this year, however, has been our recent school production. Principal cast members in Grades 5/6 worked tirelessly in their rehearsals, to ensure the running of a seemless production. The children in all grades worked with Sue Lewis (a parent volunteer) who choreographed all the musical numbers performed by each grade across the school. All other areas of the production were overseen by Ms Bedwell and Ms Williams whose tireless effort ensured a fantastic time was had by all.
