At Bayswater West Primary School, we pride ourselves on our positive values and the commendable attitude and behaviour of our students. Across the school, we have implemented the Healthy Relationships program. Through this program, grades focus on level-specific values that are critical to building and maintaining positive relationships.

Ranging from friendliness and caring in the Junior School , to peer pressure in the Senior School , our students benefit from discussing issues and values relevant to their experiences, in the open and trusting forum provided by this program.

In Term 3 of this year, all grades visited the Life Ed. Van and got involved in responsible decision-making. Students were able to follow up on these excellent Life Ed. Van sessions with the comprehensive supplementary workbook, featuring activities based on such themes as: beliefs and values, healthy living and fitness, and positive relationship-building.

Physical Education is also implemented across the school. In the Junior School , students participate in half an hour of specialist PE per week with further time allocated to physical activity by each class teacher, and a further half hour of the Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) during terms 3 and 4. In the Senior School, students from Grades 3-6 have extensive involvement in team sports, through interschool competition, and through the specialist PE program.

Further, students participate in whole-school events such as the swimming program, Fun Run, a whole-day Basketball Clinic, a Footy Clinic run by the Richmond Football Club and Twilight Sports, which has become a whole school community event.
