In today's fast paced world of information Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is becoming more and more of an essential part of any curriculum.

At Bayswater West we strive to ensure that each and every student gains the essential foundational knowledge in all areas of ICT including Computers, the Internet, Scanners, Digital mediums such as Photography and Video as well as state of the art learning technologies. Each of the double classrooms at Bayswater West Primary School has at least six computers, with the Senior School (3-6) also benefiting from the use of 8 wireless laptops, and access to video conferencing.

During Term 2 2006 we have been fortunate enough to install two new SMARTboards with Digital Projectors. These enhance the teaching and learning program by engaging students and providing a genuine visual interactive medium which benefits children who are visual learners. Our senior students are also fortunate enough to be involved in an ongoing SIE project that involves Online Collaborative Mentoring with other schools in our Innovations and Excellence Cluster, as well as overseas in the United States, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates.

As well as updating our ICT resources, with the purchase of new classroom computers, scanners and digital cameras, we also have technology kits for classroom use. We purchased several Kid K'Nex Classpacks for years P-2, and several K'Nex Discovery Building Set Kits for years 3-6. These are housed in our technology storeroom. These fantastic kits add to our growing range of technology resources, which include Lego Tecnix kits and Construction Kits.
